5.1 Road Bridge Inventory in France

The estimated number of road bridges (with a span greater than 2 m) in France ranges from 200,000 to 250,000. 90% of these bridges are managed by local authorities and departments, and 10% are managed by the State, comprising the non-concession national road network (RRNNC) and the concession national road network (RRNC). There are 12,204 bridges on the RRNNC.
