2. Road Traffic Load Models

2.1 Main load model from the former Fascicule 61 – Title II – of the CPC

Bridges were designed through 2009 in accordance with the rules set forth in the former Fascicule 61, Title II, of the Cahier des prescriptions communes (CPC), which means that the vast majority of bridges in France were designed using these rules. Normal (non-accident-related) traffic loads comprised two different systems: System A and System B. System A was the primary load system.
