Control of sustainable production systems

Five essential functions, organized in hierarchical stages, are identified in the steering process of a production system. Classically, in an industrial environment, each of these levels has its own reaction capacity and a steering structure, with these structures linked hierarchically from the highest to the lowest level.

• Planning: this level has a long-term vision of the company's production: statistics, market studies enable it to define a master production plan, a compromise between marketing, financial and production objectives. We are therefore at the tactical decision-making level of the "company" system, but at the strategic level of the "workshop" production...
