In this chapter, we assume that the system operates in an open loop. The closed-loop case will be discussed in the following chapter. In open loop, identification methods for model estimation in the form of state representation are structured in 3 steps:

  • step 1: data conditioning (§ 2.1 );

  • step 2: estimation of order and extended observability matrix (§ 2.2
