Whether for remote operation or virtual reality applications, force feedback interfaces need to offer a high level of safety and security, as they are manipulated by a human user.
From a mechanical point of view, this means that, if possible, such interfaces should not be able to reach vital areas of the body (head, torso), that they should not be able to apply excessive forces, particularly when the operator may find himself trapped between the interface and the environment, and that their kinetic energy should remain low, which implies limiting their inertia and speed
