3. Methods for synthesizing filters from their transfer function

To calculate and manufacture an active filter, we start by calculating its voltage transfer function from the specifications (figure ). This step is described in detail in the article Transfer functions of electrical filters [E 120] , to which the reader is referred.

The voltage transfer function is always a rational fraction in p of the form :
