permeability
Physical quantity expressing the capacity of a medium to magnetize. It is a complex number whose real part represents the medium's capacity to store magnetic energy, and whose imaginary part represents the dissipative effects of interactions between the electromagnetic (EM) wave and the magnetic structure (spin magnetic moments, magnetic walls). In the case of an anisotropic magnetic material, this quantity is represented by a third-order tensor (permeability tensor).

Electromagnetic (EM) energy distribution parameters in a microwave device. For a quadripole, the S parameters are represented by a matrix of order 2, whose diagonal elements are the reflection coefficients respectively on ports 1 and 2 of the quadripole, and whose extra-diagonal terms are the transmission coefficients...
