2.1 Intrinsic and extrinsic transistors
As in the previous section, transistor operation is generally described for the intrinsic component shown in figure 1. This intrinsic part is connected to the other circuit elements via extrinsic elements, which make up the transistor's architecture. This architecture will have a direct influence on the transistor's performance. The architecture consists of two main elements, illustrated in figure
