3. Performance analysis
The choice of a modulation strategy depends on the criteria, or indicators, that the operator wishes to optimize. Among these, two main families can be distinguished: those based on a temporal analysis of signals and those based on a frequency analysis of signals. After presenting the frequency analysis tools that are essential for evaluating a frequency indicator, we take a closer look at three indicators in particular: the linear operating range, the reduction of switching losses, and the harmonic content of the spectrum of electrical quantities at load level.
