2. Reciprocal and non-reciprocal materials
In a reciprocal microwave material, by definition, wave propagation is identical when the direction of propagation is reversed. This applies mainly to lossless materials with real electromagnetic parameters, but also to lossy materials such as lossy dielectrics.
