4. Power supply and control

Our experience in powering electrical machines mainly concerns the low-frequency supply of inductive armatures. Piezoelectric motors, on the other hand, tend to behave more capacitively, and generally require high-frequency (20 to 500 kHz) and high-voltage (50 to 1,000 V) power supplies. Controlling these motors therefore requires the definition of specific power supply and control strategies, based on precise characterization of the particular electrical load they represent.
