4. Four-quadrant reversible chopper

Each of the above elementary choppers behaves like a variable voltage source. We've already detailed the switching and studied the filters, so we'll confine ourselves to an external study of the four-quadrant version.

Let's take the previous one-arm structure (figure 13 ) and combine two of them in parallel. This gives us the combination: two quadrants + two quadrants = four quadrants, shown in figure 17 .
