Boolean algebra is defined on the space E ₂ consisting of the elements {0, 1}. There is a relation of order 0 < 1 and three basic operations. Complementation is an application of E ₂ on E ₂ . The operations union (still called "or", "max") which is denoted + and intersection (still called "and", "min") which is denoted · are applications of E ₂ × E ₂ ® E ₂ .
