3. Arithmetic operators
Arithmetic operators are fundamental to many applications. Combined with logic operators, they make up the arithmetic-logic unit (ALU), which is the heart of the calculation part of computer CPUs. Whether working with integers (integer operators) or floating-point numbers (floating-point operators), they are widely used in digital processing, signal processing and more.
The essential feature of arithmetic operators is bit (or bit block) processing and carry propagation. They are a typical area of use for slice logic.
