To model a system and evaluate its response to parasitic excitation, parasitic radiation or susceptibility, it is first necessary to define observables. Great care must be taken in selecting these observables, since they must be representative of the system's behavior and be capable of qualifying it. In existing systems, test procedures are governed by standards which, in theory, should make it possible to detect abnormal behavior likely to render the operation of a system incompatible in the presence of others located in its vicinity, or even in its more distant environment (radio, TV, radar transmitters, etc.).
