5. Temporary harmonic overvoltages

Under certain conditions, temporary harmonic overvoltages can lead to steady-state ferroresonance [10] , after the transient has ended. Voltage or current harmonics are amplified by oscillation between the inductance and capacitance of neighboring equipment. Harmonic overvoltages account for the majority of studies involving the energization of transformers, with phenomena that decay within a few seconds.
