2. Analysis of permanent three-phase sinusoidal operation

In this paragraph, we restrict ourselves to the case of a two-pole machine with three-phase stator and rotor.

2.1 Steady-state operating equations

Figure 5 a shows a motor consisting of a stator and a rotor. Each carries a three-phase, two-pole winding, in accordance with the rotating field winding design.

The three stator windings are supplied with balanced, direct three-phase voltages u 1 , u 2 , u 3 ; the three rotor windings are star-connected, and short-circuited. We'll assign subscripts "a, b, c"...
