3. Modeling a permanent magnet synchronous motor
The machine studied is a low-power (120 W) 2-pole permanent magnet synchronous motor with commutator. This completely enclosed motor is instrumented with 17 K-type thermocouples on the stator and 23 thermocouples on the rotor. Rotor signals are obtained via a rotating collector. Sensors are installed in all solid areas of the machine, both axially and radially. The motor's rated speed is 2,000 rpm ·
