3. Conclusion
In this article, we have shown that the calculation of leakage inductances of an electrical machine can be carried out analytically or using the numerical finite element method. Each of these methods has its advantages and disadvantages.

The analytical approach leads to expressions in which the machine's geometrical characteristics appear explicitly. This enables the designer to highlight the sensitive parameters that need to be controlled. It also enables the use of rapid optimization techniques.
However, these methods can only be applied to simple geometries, and do not allow for rigorous consideration of the machine's magnetic state.
