3. Inverter arm design, control and protection
As we saw in the fascicule
, the key link in the structure of an inverter is the basic cell, essentially made up of two three-segment switches, commonly referred to as the "bridge arm". The design of such a cell, an essential preliminary to the implementation of an inverter, requires the consideration of various sensitive aspects, the main ones being :
the choice of power semiconductor components ;
close control and protection of these same components;
the interconnections between the elements of this cell.
The central elements of the cell are, of course, the switches made from semiconductor components....
