3. Implementation of small drive motors and actuators
General electromechanical behavior is, of course, similar to that of any electric motor, whatever its power or size. It should be noted, however, that in a small motor, electromechanical characteristics are highly dependent on loss problems (mechanical, Joule and magnetic), since a particularly unfavorable scaling factor is observed compared to a motor of the same structure but with higher power.
Small motors generally have no separate or independent excitation. Either the excitation flux is normally generated by permanent magnets, or induction effects (induction motor) or magnetization (variable reluctance motor) are used.
