Before presenting ejector refrigeration cycles, it's worth saying a few words about ejectors. Ejectors

are static devices designed to draw in, compress or mix fluids (gases, vapors, liquids) by means of the expansion of a primary driving fluid. This primary fluid provides the energy required to drive the secondary fluid.
An ejector consists essentially of a convergent, a mixing chamber and a divergent. The convergent serves to accelerate the primary fluid and lower its pressure, the mixing chamber to draw in the secondary fluid, and the divergent to discharge the mixture, bringing its pressure to the desired value by slowing it down in the divergent. The ejector therefore performs the suction/discharge functions usually performed by a mechanical vapor compressor....
