Processes using lasers are already described in

, so only a brief description is given here. Two processes have been developed. The first, which has been scaled up to the size of a pilot plant, is the SILVA process, which uses selective interaction between uranium atoms and laser radiation. The second, which has not progressed beyond the laboratory stage, uses selective interaction between the UF
