4. Applications
In the introduction to the previous article

, we have already described some of the applications of induction heating, particularly in the field of metal metallurgy. Of the 150 GWh mentioned in the introduction to this article, 45% relate to melting, 45% to heating before forming, with the remaining 10% representing heat treatment and miscellaneous applications. These figures clearly show that the iron and steel industry and the mechanical engineering sector remain a prime area for induction heating in the following fields:
