4. Auxiliary services
The operation of a substation requires different forms of energy to perform various functions (control, signalling, transmission, motive power, lighting, heating, etc.).
Auxiliary services include production and distribution facilities for these different forms of energy, providing :
low-voltage alternating current ;
low-voltage direct current ;
pressurized oil to insulate HV cables.
