Determining the permissible currents in the various parts of the wiring (whether circuits are made with wires, cables or bars, depending on the currents involved) is linked to the distribution diagram adopted.

If, for conductors reserved for an incoming or outgoing circuit, the calculation is based on the rated current of this circuit, for parts common to several circuits, it may be necessary to adopt reducing coefficients depending on :
