2. Choosing and carrying out insulation work
The percentages of heat loss by zone (see figure above) make it easier to choose the work to be carried out. In terms of priority, we recommend starting with roof and attic insulation, followed by wall, window and door insulation, then floor and ceiling insulation, not forgetting the treatment of thermal bridges.
2.1 Roof and attic insulation
The laws of nature dictate that heat rises from the floor to the roof, and this is where most of it escapes if the waterproofing leaves something to be desired. To increase efficiency, all defects detected during the thermal diagnosis must be addressed. Insulation must be installed on a healthy roof, i.e. one free of damp patches, fungi and wood-boring insects. This is the minimum precaution to take.
