3. Applying the FMECA method
As part of preventive maintenance, identify the main system failures, their causes and their criticality, by carrying out a FMEA (Failure Mode, Effect and Criticality Analysis) on a piece of technical equipment. Here are the key steps, and some examples.
3.1 Define scope and team
Identify the team members involved in the FMECA analysis: designers, technical experts, maintenance operators, etc.
Define the scope of the analysis, e.g. the entire system: for a heat pump, for example, identify the specific sub-systems (compressor, evaporator, etc.).
