Heat requirements in the processing industry exhibit two characteristic peaks: 60–120 °C (drying, distillation, chemicals, food processing) and 1,400–1,500 °C (metal and glass melting). This diversity of needs requires a differentiated technological approach.

2.1 Regulatory Framework for Combustion Facilities

article L. 224-1 du Code de l’environnement , establishes the regulations for combustion facilities with a capacity exceeding 400 kW. Articles R. 224-20 through R. 224-30 set the minimum regulatory efficiency requirements.
