Deacidification processes can be classified into three main families:
scavengers or adsorption processes, which aim to remove H2S or other minority sulfur compounds (COS, RSH, CS2 , light sulfides), suitable for gases with low H2S contents;
redox processes, which aim to remove H2S, suitable for gases with low to moderate H2S concentrations, and which have the advantage of removing sulfur directly in solid form ;
