3. Standard transient behavior models for heat exchangers

This section describes the various methodologies available for the transient study of heat exchangers, from the complex, local approaches of physics, to the experimental approaches, accessible by measurement and therefore not requiring a priori no preliminary modeling.

Heat exchangers are considered to have an interface or wall (index p) between the cold fluid (index f ) and the hot fluid (index c). The local description of the system is then as shown in figure 13 .
