3. Determining the treatment process
The treatment method depends on the nature of the waste and its liquid or solid state.
If the waste is liquid, it is generally treated by a physico-chemical process, i.e. neutralization, possibly preceded by dechromatization and/or decyanidation.
If the waste is solid, such as metal hydroxide sludge, metallurgical slag or mineral salts, it can either be recycled or sent to a hazardous waste landfill.
3.1 Laboratory waste
PCL (laboratory chemicals) is the name given to waste from R&D activities in the laboratories of companies and research organizations. This waste necessarily undergoes a sorting phase carried out by the chemist of the service provider in charge of waste collection.
