2. What data do you need from each of your suppliers?
Before making a decision, it's a good idea to gather information about your suppliers and the chemicals they will supply:
name and country of supplier (indicating whether distributor);
your substance's main identification numbers (e.g. CAS No., EC No. [ELINCS or EINECS], chemical and/or trade name);
in the case of a mixture, the percentage of each substance present. Each substance in the mixture must be taken individually;
the quantity in tonnes you wish to obtain from this supplier for each substance on its own and/or in a mixture;
a brief description of your and your customers' uses of the substance.
On the basis of this data, you can determine whether the diversification of your suppliers' range imposes new obligations on you in terms of marketing.
