Authorization is one of the four pillars of the REACh regulation. It is a new Community tool for managing the risks associated with hazardous chemicals, complementing the principle of restriction.
Authorization aims to manage the risks associated with chemical substances of very high concern, by replacing them with other substances or alternative techniques. Eventually, they can only be marketed and used with a specific "authorization".
