All the bacteria, archaea, microscopic eukaryotes and viruses present in a given environment.

A factor that can cause a morbid process (disease) in animals or plants. Microorganisms include bacteria, fungi (yeasts, molds), protozoa (single-celled eukaryotes) and viruses.
