Urban biodiversity: from ecology to landscape planning

Urban ecology and its application to ecosystem-based urban planning are at a turning point, both in terms of the acquisition of new knowledge and the potential for developing applied ecology. But the city of tomorrow is a work in progress, with no need to wait for results and the generalization of validated strategies, actions and methods. There is no doubt, however, that the scientific results obtained by researchers, on the one hand, and the empirical results identified by the many planning departments, on the other, will help to accelerate decision-making towards a "biodiverse" city. This is currently being reinforced by the investment of several design and consultancy agencies in dynamic research and development.
