Biostimulants : nature, function, regulation, uses

Biostimulants are still not widely used, for two main reasons:

• there are still few registered products and few uses;

• application methods and doses are unsatisfactory, and the claimed efficacy is not always achieved.

Unfortunately, we have no precise statistics on the biostimulant market in France or Europe. For France, the only data available are those put forward by AFAÏA, a trade association representing producers of soil improvers and biostimulants (figures 12 and
