An adsorbent is generally implemented in the form of a filter, i.e. a fixed bed packed with particles (grains or extrudates) through which the air to be treated flows. The cognitive and dimensional approach to this type of reactor involves the study of fluid flow in the packing and knowledge of mass and heat transfer.
