5. Atmospheric management
Many of the provisions of French air quality legislation transpose or reinforce European environmental directives. In particular, they lay down :
ambient air limit values for various pollutants;
the quality of fuels and discharges from various sources of pollution;
national emission ceilings to be respected by member states.
