5. Major risk prevention organization
Regulations governing Seveso establishments, and more particularly those with a high threshold, require the implementation of a specific organization for the prevention of major risks, including incident response.
Operators of Seveso plants are required to put in place a specific major-accident prevention policy, an internal operations plan and, in the case of high-threshold plants, a safety management system.
For their part, prefects are required to draw up a special response plan, while the inspectorate for classified installations is required to carry out periodic inspections of these establishments.
