Inert, non-hazardous waste is mineral waste that remains unchanged. These wastes do not decompose or burn, and do not produce any physical, chemical or biological reactions that could harm the environment or human health.

Inert waste includes :

• mixtures of concrete, bricks, tiles, ceramics, rubble, sand, cement, mortar, rubble, breeze blocks;

• glass (glazing only), such as white glass, laminated glass, tinted glass, mirrors;

• tar-free bituminous materials (tar-free pavements);

• earth and stone (including excavated material, but excluding topsoil and peat).
