3. Main families of mathematical atmospheric dispersion models
There are essentially three families of numerical models suitable for studying the atmospheric dispersion of odors: Gaussian models, Lagrangian models and Eulerian models.

In Gaussian-type models, most atmospheric dispersion processes are taken into account using specific parameterizations without solving the fluid mechanics equations.
