1. Obsolescence of technical systems
The standard (IEC 62402, 2019) defines obsolescence as the transition from the state of availability to the state of unavailability of an entity from its manufacturer in accordance with the original specification.
Obsolescence is an inescapable phenomenon: a product, defined as "anything (object, service, organization, idea, ideology...) that can be offered on the market to satisfy a need or a desire", has a limited useful life.
