3. Atmospheric dispersion modeling

Atmospheric dispersion models are well-suited to calculating the olfactory impact of an industrial facility discharging an effluent into the atmosphere.

Depending on meteorological conditions and topography, these models simulate the dispersion of odors in the environment, enabling us to determine the geographical areas "impacted" by odor nuisance (figure 6 ).

  • The first advantage of these models is that they can work on the – source-receptor relationship in both directions.
