Sustainable Development: Introduction

For a company to develop sustainably, its economic development must not be to the detriment of individuals or the environment, or in an aided and unsustainable economic context.

The responsibility of developed countries is to contribute to the economic development of other countries. The sustainable development of our society requires each of its players to assume their responsibility within a legal and ethical framework: corporate social responsibility.

An international standard on corporate social responsibility (ISO 26000) compiles the questions that organizations of all kinds need to ask themselves in order to assume their responsibility.
