1.1 Cancer

Cancer results from chemical, physical, or biological damage affecting cells in a tissue. The cell becomes immortal, continuing to divide at an accelerated rate without any inhibition from contact with adjacent cells. The affected tissue grows uncontrollably and disrupts the functioning of the affected organ.

These cells quickly acquire other abilities, such as protecting themselves against immune cells, but also the ability to produce new blood vessels that allow the tumor to receive blood and enter the circulation. These cells become increasingly resistant to various therapeutic treatments and continue to reproduce outside the organ of origin (metastases).
