5. Conclusion
The immense technological potential of nanosciences and nanotechnologies means that nanomaterials can no longer be considered as a homogeneous group for which conventional handling and protection techniques can be applied.
Each nanomaterial, with its specific technical characteristics, must be considered as an individual entity, with its own physico-chemical, toxicological and environmental behavior, for which appropriate means of control and protection must be found and implemented.
Nanotechnologies and nanomaterials represent a major technological leap forward, impacting all sectors of human activity, and their applications and dissemination raise questions about their impact on mankind and the environment.
