On a statistical basis, high steam pressure reaction systems account for 90-95% of the demand for vent sizing in France. This demand relates to reactors already equipped with vents, for which the sizing needs to be justified, or to the construction of a new reactor for a process that is usually protected by an emergency vent.

The processes concerned are the manufacture of formo-phenolic resins or other resins, various polymerizations using acrylic or vinyl reactive monomers, and the manufacture of latexes.
