3. Vent sizing
The ideal vent area is the area of an orifice assimilated to an ideal frictionless nozzle, enabling the enclosure to be protected in the event of a runaway reaction, regardless of the vent lines installed downstream of the orifice. Determination of the ideal vent surface is based on a material balance represented by Boyle's formula
