Example of EPD implementation in the process industry
The concept of defence in depth; a contribution to the ICPEs' safety (Classified Facilitiesfor the Protection of the Environment)

The aim of this example is to study, using the concept of defense-in-depth, a technical failure scenario, more precisely a runaway reaction, which could occur during a synthesis reaction in a reactor at a fine chemicals plant. This scenario is used to analyze the various systems and measures for preventing and reducing the consequences of an accident. The aim of this example is to show the contribution of the transposition of the concept of defense in depth to the reading of hazard studies for this type of ICPE.
